Music Programs

Music is an important part of ministry.  We have choirs and bells for all ages.  We feature guest soloists at services throughout the year.  Occasionally, we have services that spotlight our Christian musical heritage.  As with most churches, we have plenty of music during the Lenten and Christmas seasons.  The Music Ministry resumes its worship participation in September with “sounds of great rejoicing” and invites each member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run to be a part of this wonderful ministry and fellowship.  Maybe you vaguely remember the violin up in the attic or the tuba in the basement.  Maybe you could limber up those fingers and come play for a children’s rehearsal.  Maybe you get tiny hints of memory tugging at your heart and mind when you hear a particular hymn or anthem.  We have groups for all ages from kindergarten through adults (although the Youth Choir is still in its early stages).  We have bell choirs and soon hope to have a contemporary ensemble to sing occasionally.

Dream Team
Perhaps you would like to get your children more involved and learning more about our worship and its music; about the Bible; about caring for others through mission opportunities; or about fellowshipping with members of our church from all ages and stages of life. Our weekly DREAM TEAM is an intergenerational program for children, teens, parents, grandparents, and anyone who would like to join us for our once monthly family-style meal.  And behind the scenes, perhaps you would be willing to have your name placed on a roster for occasional Wednesday evening babysitting.  The schedule for children’s DREAM Team begins on Wednesday, September 14, at 5:00 PM.

Adult Bell Choir
This group, which includes adults and any high school aged youth who are interested, meets Wednesday evenings from 6:40 to 7:30.  The schedule for adult bell choir begins on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:40 PM.

Chancel Choir
This group of adult singers (including any interested high school aged youth) meets Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00.   The schedule for the Chancel Choir begins on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 PM.
